The Project Selection Process
Each Ikayzo.org project enjoys the benefits of professional services ranging from hosting and code reviews to localization provided by our sponsors. Because there is considerable expense involved with each project, we have to be very selective in terms of which projects we choose to include.
Projects are selected by majority vote of the review committee. They are judged on the following criteria:
Technology
Currently, Ikayzo.org accepts only Java projects. There are a number of reasons for this including the selection of review committee members and sponsors. We are considering starting an Ikayzo.NET sister site that would accept .NET projects. Watch the news area for information relating to Ikayzo.NET.
Relevance
Ikayzo.org projects must be of interest to a significant subsection of the java developer community.
Architecture
Ikayzo.org projects must have sound architecture. We are looking for projects that use proper abstraction, employ solid OO design, and make good use of design patterns as appropriate.
Code Quality
Ikayzo.org projects must have strong code quality. Adherence to Javasofts published coding standards is strongly encouraged.
Documentation
Ikayzo.org projects must be well documented. This includes code level documentation, overviews, FAQs, and other relevant document as appropriate for the project type.
