Patrick Niemeyer
Patrick Niemeyer is the author of the best selling books Exploring Java and Learning Java. He is currently an independent consultant, author, and an active member of the Java community process, which helps to define new APIs for the Java platform. Pat is the creator of BeanShell - a popular Java scripting language, and various other free goodies on the Net. In recent years Pat has been developing enterprise architecture and applications for the financial industry.

Gianni Scenini
Gianni Scenini has 15 years of experience in computer science, distributed technologies, programming languages, OO, transactional systems and relational databases. Through his new technology company QUATIVA Ltd, he mainly focuses on high volume 24x7 enterprise solutions and mission critical middleware development on J2EE platform. He is currently helping one of the world's largest application service providers based in France to design and develop performant and scalable core business applications for their production environment that manages more than 220 million transactions a day.

Mr. Scenini previously served as sr. architect for UK based Lastminute.com, Europe's leading independent travel and leisure website, and as technical leader in the Research & Development for US based ATG inc. where he develop an EJB 2 container for their commercial J2EE certified application server. He represented ATG in the EJB Sun Java Expert Group JSR-153. Mr. Scenini also held positions as chief architect of the e-business group for industry leader PSINET, and as a technologist at IBM where he co-authored three IBM redbooks on Websphere enterprise, CORBA, EJB and emerging technologies at the IBM ITSO laboratory in San Jose, California.

As a result of his involvement in open source he recently co-founded Agileminds.org, a consortium of Agile-oriented companies to deliver solutions for complex problems.

Sam Joseph
Dr. Joseph received a B.Sc. (Hons) in physics with astrophysics at the University of Leicester, UK, followed by a M.Sc. in cognitive science and natural language and a Ph.D. in neural networks from the University of Edinburgh, UK. He is a recipient of the Raymond-Hide prize for Astrophysics and a Toshiba Fellowship. As part of the Toshiba Fellowship he designed software agents at Toshiba's Research and Development Center in Japan. He was subsequently involved in a number of internet startup companies in Tokyo and also spent two years as a research associate at the University of Tokyo, where he worked on peer to peer and distributed information management systems. Dr. Joseph holds a number of patents, and has a wide range of both academic and journalistic publications.

Dr. Joseph has been programming in Java for 8 years, and is one of the few native English speaking experts in Japanese mobile java technology, with hands on deployment experience of Java applications on all three Japanese cellphone networks. Dr. Joseph designed and deployed one of the first Japanese Cellphone education systems, versions of which are now in use by over 200,000 active users.

Daniel Leuck
Daniel Leuck is the president of Ikayzo, inc., a boutique IT consulting firm specializing in enterprise software development and offshore outsourcing. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Tokyo-based ValueCommerce, Asia's largest online marketing company, Global Head of Development for London-based LastMinute.com, Europe's largest B2C website, and President of the US division of DML. Daniel has extensive experience managing teams of 200+ developers in five countries. He has served on numerous advisory boards and panels for companies such as Macromedia and Sun Microsystems. Daniel is active in the Java community, is a contributor to BeanShell, the project lead for SDL, and sits on the expert groups standardizing Java 6, Scientific Units in Java, Java Modules, and the Swing Application Framework.
